Host our Bees!
We are always on the lookout for more good bee-sites so if you are interested in having our beehives on your property, fill out the contact for at the bottom of the page.
What we look for in a potential bee-site
- Easy access for our ute (ideally our wide trailer too but can be flexible depending on the site).
- Within 2kms of good pollen/nectar sources (e.g. Mānuka Shrubbery, Kānuka Trees, Native Bush, Dense Gorse, Clover Fields, etc.). Bees fly within a 2km radius and need an accessible food source to survive and build a strong hive.
- A flat site to place the beehives on. A slight lean can be okay, be a level site is always best to prevent the hives from tipping over.
- Sunny and sheltered site to help the bees stay warm and happy.
- No other beehives within 2kms out of respect for the other beekeeper.
